I Surrender Records
Refusing to accept a two-week reprieve from touring as a much needed vacation, Rob Hitt (drummer, Midtown) founded Brooklyn's I Surrender Records with a slew of free hours and years' worth of hard-earned knowledge. By early 2003, Hitt was convinced that he should right the wrongs done unto him as a young musician navigating the oft-confusing business of record deals by building a label that would truly work as an equal partner with emerging talent. After a friend encouraged him to listen to a song by West Virginia's Time and Distance, Hitt knew immediately that Time and Distance should be the first band to benefit from his wisdom and encouragement. As a result, I Surrender Records was officially in business. In addition to Time and Distance's EP, I Surrender has released EPs by Stars Hide Fire, The Westminster Abbey, and Vise Versa. The newest member of the I Surrender Record's family, Valencia, have recently released a full-length album, This Could Be A Possibility, on October 25, 2005, marking I Surrender Record's first long-player release.
