WOODLAND HILLS CA, February 17, 2005 — Richard and Stefanie Reines, owners of Drive-Thru Records, have launched a new label, Rushmore Records. The sister label to Drive-Thru has inked deals with four bands with more signings anticipated.
Rushmore Records was created to give artists the opportunity to sign with a label backed by experience as well as an unfaltering love for music and it’s creators. Currently, the Drive-Thru roster includes 13 acts and the Reineses wanted to avoid an overload where artists could potentially get lost in the shuffle. Thus, Rushmore Records was born.
With a name inspired by Wes Anderson’s clever coming of age film, Rushmore Records is off to a fantastic start having signed Self Against City, Day At The Fair, The Track Record, and Houston Calls. Sacramento-based Self Against City is the inaugural signing and release for Rushmore. Their EP Take It How You Want It comes out April 5th. Maryland’s The Track Record will release their S/T EP on April 19th and New Jersey’s Day At The Fair drop The Rockingchair Years on May 3rd. Houston Calls is working on a release with producer Ed Rose for later this year. In the meantime, they will join Self Against City for the nationwide “Sound of More Tour”, which starts April 8th. Dates and cities are still being finalized.
