Lehti Brothers Bio
The Lehti Brothers are, from oldest to youngest, Esa of Kelowna BC, Jon of Newmarket Ont., and Ilkka of Toronto Ont. We were all born in Lapland, Finland and emigrated in 1956. Our home became Kirkland Lake in Northern Ontario where we grew up and went to school.
During our high school years, we were very active in dance bands and toured throughout Northern and Southern Ontario playing one night stands on weekends and holidays. As the 60's drew to a close, we started playing more in the club circuits and continued on for many years.
Life began to take us in different directions and musically we all felt the need to take it to the next level. For us that meant taking our own songs more seriously. We maintained our musical bond by writing songs and trading ideas. Because we lived in different parts of the country, this was slow at times.
Now, through the use of computers, digital systems and media, and the internet, it became possible for us to write, record, produce, and master "Lehti Brothers, Rockin' For Freedom" without ever being together in a studio or even in each others' homes. We have drawn from a long list of older songs written many years ago, and also added some very recent collaborations to this record.
We hope you enjoy our music and find a place for it in your lineup.

| Monday, January 1st, 2007 Giving! I recently attended a speaking event featuring Bill Clinton and he inspired me to try and help people. I am doing so through this organization called Kiva. Kiva gives out small loans (microloans) to people in developing countries to enable them to be self-sufficient in their own businesses. The link to Kiva is http://kiva.org/app.php Esa

| Thursday, December 21st, 2006 Our Band Our album is not one centered on a style. We took songs that have been with us for a long time and others that were newer. And for the first time we collaborated with the sole purpose of recording. The input was spontaneous and free so the tracks tend to be long. It was very different working in isolation too. All of the tracks were transferred to CD and mailed, then added to the project and mixed. We rarely have the chance now to perform together because we live in different parts of the country but we are keeping our ideas alive thanks to the internet and easier methods of recording music.
