Lagrima's main purpose is to make heavy passionate music that is beautifuly dark while still maintaining melody and calmness.
Formed in the beginning of 2004, the band has been working it's way up in the rock/metal scene in the Netherlands ever since, and has gained more and more recognition amongst peers and fans in the underground bandcircuit. Lagrima has gathered a considerable amount of live experience by playing several festivals and events.
Influenced by Teamsleep, Underoath, reaching to the likes of 36Crazyfists and Machine Head, the band makes heavy-yet still melodic-songs that ocassionally drift into experimental ambient/ electronic sonic escapades. But don't expect any close comparitions with the bands mentioned above, because the band has clearly developed it's own sound. This all, combined with a sparkling, mindblowing live performance, has convinced the fans and critics each time of their passion and dedication to music.
Their 1st demo was received well by several media such as the "3voor12 VPRO" and the "Popunie". After winning a pre-selection round at the "Battle of Total Music" at their 1st show ever, they managed to conquer a slot at the "Ijsselpop festival 2004" shortly afterwards by winning the "Slag om Ijsselpop". They also won the 2nd place at the "Grote Prijs van Voorne-Putten" in the same year. Lagrima also participated in the "Grote Prijs van Zuidholland 2005" and became soon one of the public's favorites. This way the band built a solid live reputation from the very beginning.
After a short break in the studio with producers Oscar Bor (Green Lizard, Agresion), Lagrima released their 2nd promotional demo, consisting of 3 powerful tracks, at the dawn of the year 2006, presenting this to the audience by giving a well received demo-cd release party at the "Total Music" in Schiedam.
The band was recently invited to play the "EMERGENZA Festival: the biggest bandcompetition on the planet for unsigned acts in North America and Europe". With the help and support of a steady growing and expanding fanbase, they won the pre-selections at the Winston and the P60, and therefore earned a spot at the regional finals at the Melkweg, May 13th 2006.
Lagrima has grown into a convincing professional live-act over the past two years and their goal is to play as many shows possible, promoting their new material, in order to reach as many heavy music lovers possible.
