I am a 19-year-old, self-taught composer. Five years ago I started hearing music in my head and began searching for a way to release it. I like to say that my compositions and arrangements embody a full spectrum of emotions. It may come as a suprise to you, but I don't read music. My knowledge of musical terms and concepts is limited, but that is something that I wish to change in the near future...any help is gratefully accepted! Right now, all my music is arranged using an audio tracker called Renoise (www.renoise.com) where music is vertical instead of horizontal. I do all of my music by ear.
I have arranged several songs for local television programs including "The Lighted Path" and "New Directions." The music is all synthetically created, using and some live audio samples to supplement IK multimedia's SampleTank; hence the name: "Liberty Synthony Orchestra." My music has been inspired by many people including my all-time-favorite composer Hans Zimmer (my favorite scores are from 'The Rock' and 'Gladiator'). Another inspiriation for instrumentals comes from the memory of my dearest and best friend, Mark A. Lodenkamp, who died of cancer in 2003. The song "One Last Time" is dedicated to his memory. |
