Lifehouse was created by three friends in 1996 under the group name Blyss. The band consists of Jason Wade (singer/songwriter), Sergio Andrade (bass), and Rick Woolstenhulme (drummer). In 2002, Woolstenhulme’s little brother, Sean would join the group as well as a guitarist. Wade had a traumatic childhood. His family moved a lot. He began his life in California, went to Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Portland in Oregon; all before Junior High. After his parents got divorced, he moved to Seattle, Washington with his mother. When he was fifteen he and his mother moved to Los Angeles. Blyss played in Seattle and Portland. The group then changed their name to Lifehouse and re-located to L.A. They soon signed a contract with DreamWorkd. In October 200, No Name Face, debuted. The single, ‘Hanging By A Moment,” was the most played single of 2001. The album eventually went double platinum. The group then toured with Pearl Jam, Fuel, and Matchbox Twenty. In September 2002, Lifehouse released Stanley Climbfall. The album was recorded during the spring and summer of 2002. Stanley Climbfall was produced by Brendan Brien (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Rage Against the Machine). Lifehouse is generally compared to Live, Matchbox 20, and Everclear.
