Lit is an alternate rock band from Orange County. All the members, brothers A.Jay (Vocals) and Jeremy Popoff (Guitar), Kevin Baldes (Bass) and Allen Shellenberger (Drums), went to high school together in Anaheim. The guys were all friends before they formed their band in 1990.
They were popular on the Orange County music scene (that gave bands such as No Doubt and Korn) and after 6 years released the EP 'Five Smokin Tracks From...Lit', releasing their debut album, 'Tripping The Light Fantastic' in April 1997 on an independant label, Malicious Vinyl.
They were then signed on RCA Records in 1998 and 'A Place In The Sun' was released, with more radio-friendly songs then the first albums. The band mixed power pop and alternate rock to make hits like 'My Own Worst Enemy' and included a paean to the Popoff brothers' Cadillacs 'Down'.
