What kind of imagery and ideas does the name THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT conjure up? What was the big idea when members of The Fuzztones, surf greats The Bomboras, and psychobilly legends The Cramps all got together to form The Lords Of Altamont? The band offers up fast, hard rock n’ roll in the garage punk tradition, and delivers it on two wheels. Armed with the power of a flaming Farfisa organ, The Lords of
Altamont released their first critically acclaimed record …To Hell With the Lords on Sympathy For The Record Industry and toured heavily in support of this record. Besides playing in nearly every club in Los Angeles and gaining an insanely loyal fan base, The Lords mounted a successful US tour followed by a West Coast Halloween tour opening for The Cramps.
Next, the Lords played The Serie Z Festival in the south of Spain with Twisted Sister, The Hellacopters, Radio Birdman, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant and many other bands from around the world. They also toured all around Spain, and parts of Holland playing to large crowds in every city. In the spring of 2005, The Lords made their 2nd trip to Mexico
City where they played 2 sold out shows, followed by another trip to
Spain to headline the first day of The Festimal with other American and Spanish bands.
This brings us to today. The Lords Of Altamont have just released their eagerly anticipated second full length album, Lords Have Mercy on Fargo Records in Europe and Australia and on Gearhead Records in North and South America. The music keeps with the tradition of great hard-edged rock ‘n roll that will make you put down that beer and get up to shake it like a go-go.
Look for The Lords of Altamont’s European tour to begin in January in
Spain, take them through France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Scandinavia, and the U.K. They will then high-tail it back to the U.S. to headline the Gearhead Showcase at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin in mid-March. This hot ‘n’ heavy set will feature a guest spot by their buddy Michael Davis (MC5).
The Lords Of Altamont: A vicious expose of the young generation – that sick, irreverent subculture who ravage and plunder for their kicks!
