| OK, I think it would be fair to say if you are a fan of the new neo-punk scene (i.e. Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, etc.), you are not going to like this band. Likewise, if you are into the Britney's, Hilary's, and Christina's of the world, you are in the wrong place. Lost Fre |

Saturday, February 25th, 2006 Finished Our First CD Wow, we are actually finished our first CD. It took nearly 4 years. But that may be a bit misleading since we had no idea 4 years ago that we were going to record a CD. Like our bio says, we were just a few guys who wanted to get out once in a while and jam some music.
I have to say that the thing that surprised me the most was how much we had to learn. We did the whole CD in my basement. And except for that mastering, we did it all ourselves.
And because we went in blind, we made so many mistakes. For instance, we finally get a good recording, but you can hear the furnace in the background. So we start over. And just before the music was mastered, we had an engineer come in and show me what I had to do to prepare it for him. Well, six months later, I was finally finished. So while it took 4 years to complete this first CD, because of all we have learned, I doubt it will take another 4 to finish a new CD.
In the mean time, like so many other artists on this site, we do not have a record contract. And we are not sure we want one. We have all had such a wonderful experience working on this project. And we did it for the love of the music. And not because we had a record company telling us to hurry up and finish.
I hope you give some of our songs a listen and we hope you will enjoy them. We followed our own path, and did not try to copy any of the current music trends. As such, many people may not like our brand of music. But if you do, we would love to hear from you. |

We recognize that this is not for everybody. But we are fine with it. And so is our growing fan base who appreciates something different.
It would be wrong to call us a throw back. But we are all heavily influenced from a time when music was musical. An influence from the 60's, 70's, and 80's rock. But with a modern edge. It is the type of music that does not seem to get produced anymore. Thus our name.. Lost Frequency. |
