Luke Denton's " Spark" has just that, from the catchy harmonic progressions to the expertly constructed build up, this song strikes a match from the outset and burns with sincere warmth throughout. G Blues finds Mr. D's moody chords taking us to a different exit off Billy Joel highway and " Normal Life" mixes more of these great hamronies into an irresistibly sweet pop groove.

Luke Denton's music does have the influences you would expect from a talented pianist/singer/songwriter-Bruce Hornsby, Billy Joel, etc...but he has also succeeded in bringing a fresh, original sound to the mix. It's obvious that Luke has an impressive career ahead of him.

A bit of a bio:
Luke Denton holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music composition and is trained in classical and jazz piano. His compositions include works for orchestra, dance and instrumental and choral ensembles. He also is an accomplished songwriter in the rock and jazz genres. Currently, he is keyboardist, vocalist and instrumentalist for the Charlotte, NC based band Miles Apart and also performs rock and jazz piano and vocals across the southern region. Denton is also skilled in computer music and guitar. He is an experienced accompanist on piano and organ having served as a church musical director. He spends much of his time in Atlanta writing, producing and recording. |
