Malibu Music is an independent artists network founded by singer/songwriter Bruce Oatway who has just released his debut Cd entitled "Zuma Tribe" .
The popular local Malibu band saw several incarnations before Bruce decided to go it alone creating the music ,lyrics,engineering and producing the CD with the help of several friends.
The Cd is a variety of styles recorded at different times and in different locations which give it a unique sound tyed together by lyrical themes of Love at once personal and universal.
Bruce Oatway hails from Newport , R.I where , as a child he learned to play piano and sang in the famous Trinity Church Choir ,drummed with east coast rock bands ,published poetry earning a degree in Creative Writing at Roger Williams College ,finally picked up guitar and extensivly toured America ,Canada and Europe.
His move to Malibu ,living on the fringe , paid off as he opened for such lumiaries as John Hammond .The Police ,Spirit ,Bonnie Rait ,Mick Fleetwood ,Buddy Miles and headlined around the LA scene.
He now lives and plays in Maui ,Hawaii with his wife Letisha where they mentor up and coming artists.
