Hi, I'm a singer/songwriter, and my musical tastes are probably as eclectic as yours, ranging from Blues, Ballads and Jazz through to Rock, Dance, Funk, and R&B. I don`t believe in limiting my listening to a few certain types of music, so why should I limit my songwriting?
I have been described as "a hybrid Norah Jones/Mariah Carey/Alannis with Nina Simone`s sugar in her bowl". My favourite artists are Coldplay, Seal, Freakpower, Nick Drake, John Lennon, Alicia Keys, Nina Simone, Jackie Wilson, George Michael etc etc.
I have extensive live experience, including performing many Blues and Jazz standards on tour. I have been in a couple of duo`s in England, and sung practically every type of song (including Led Zepelin`s Rock `n Roll and AC.DC's You Shook Me).
All of my songs come from the heart, and many were inspired by my struggle with suicidal depression after my Uncle Tom died... It`s Not You is my tribute to his life and what affect his death had on me.
Thanks to my family, friends and writing music, I came through the depression, and have a great life with two lovely daughters and husband. |
