Don't know where to start-don't even know if I mashed the right button to get this new high-teck junk workin.
Believe it or not I've been called a redneck,my english teacher said I'd never amount to nothin, my social studies teacher said she would "toutor me any time", go figure? I was 14, she was'nt.Its o k, it was Winston county Alabama, and we were'nt that close of kin anyway.
I was Born in Cullman co. Al. 1963 at an even 10 lbs.,no wonder Momma said I been a pain since the day I was born, but she plays bluegrass and chases the show too (Old Hippy)!!!
Went to school a few days at the university of Meek in Arley Al. on Smith Lake, did'nt much like it though. Class President and most likely to skip school my senior year, not a good combination!
FOOTBALL WAS THE GAME, I loved it,but a note to parents everywhere,if your kids don't realy want to play-don't make em. broken bones, tourn ligs, shoulder injuries, back problems, will be forgotten by every one but them after they graduate, oh, but every once and a while some one will bring up how tough they were, (while they're limping around), and make them remember the "Glory Days".
Sorry, this is a Bio-not Dear Abby,I just got carried away, that happens when I get started writing.
Graduated highschool at 17, 3 days later I was in Miami,Fla.--Wow!!! Built school units for Dade and Broward countys-some kind of gov. deal?
I'd been to Georgia, Tenn. Miss.and even as far north as Kentucky one time, south Fla. is a different kind of zoo with a different kind of education. They didn't understand that "how yall doin" aint slang. They talk funny.
Diesel Mechanics at Nash. Auto & Diesel College in Nashville tn. in 1983,graduated, came back to Ala. and went back to building houses, old habbits die hard, but I DO NOT DO sheetrock or shingles!(anymore)
Rodeo!! I was lucky enough to be tangled up with the family of C.O. Black of Jasper Al.for a while, they are known world wide in the rodeo community for their accomplishments.Randy and Lisa's 14 yr. old son is in the top contenders for the WORLD-team ropeing jr.& adult championship, his brother Roper-Toby-or just Chris Hall, has been a good friend for years, Sister Kim has done a great thing by starting a horse rideing program for kids with handicaps which teaches them to ride or just be around other kids with problems and do things which they normally would not have a chance to do-T Y Kim, you got heart,
I learned to rope and ride from the best and I will never forget the good times we've had and some of the things we never can tell or we don't really remember just how they went down anyway, but they get better every time they're told around a campfire.
Somewhere in between I got married, "seemed like the thing to do at the time", I got 3 great boys, Terrance Lee-17,Tyler Dwayne 13,Tanner Allen 6(oops),get mad at one of em and you'll start at A and go to Z before you figure out which one your talking to! They're great mannered and good kids, its yes maam & no maam-yes sir and no sir, they make me proud.
I caint tell all the good stuff--yet, I don't even know if what im writing now will go where its supposed to but if it does I want people to know that theres a few good people left in this ole world that wont stab you in the back and call you friend!
ABOUT THE MUSIC--besides the bad habbits of skipping school and going fishin or huntin or both if the situation was right, writing songs and sangin was the dream, stood in line many a times on 16th ave. to hear that word NO!
I've had and still have many a friend that play and write, and still have the dream, and if it were'nt for us pushing each other we might all quit,na---it aint gonna happen. The big boys get most of their songs from the little ones so we'll keep hangin in there waiting for those golden words to fall on paper.
one of the biggest hickys I ever had was when I was at the old Fire Side studio when I was recording in Nash. when they told me Don Williams had recorded there, I thought they were full of it but it made me feel good anyway. The song I recorded there went to #13 on the indepndant chart in 1991 so I caint complain.
Theres a lot of people I have to be thankful for who have helped me get tangled up in this new computer age(or shoot em one) Thank you Chris and Melissa Vaughn, they made me get rid of the old 8 tracks and 45s and open up those poor boy copy right papers from the 1970's & 80's and start over, I have over 400 solo written songs and don't really know how many others that I was lucky enough to be able to help other people on, but Chris Vaughn is one of the best and were working on a few so T Y Chris.
I'll be writting more later on if this sticks to the net when I push this other button, but somethings in my chickens and I gotta go! |
