A Maverick is someone who stands with independent thoughts and/or actions. Someone who is not afraid to go beyond the status quo in search of unique revelations. There is a maverick that lives within all of us and that's what makes it so easy to relate to the man behind the microphone.
Maverick will be the first to tell you that he does not have many musical influences. In fact, when asked where he gets most of his ideas the self proclaimed "Pulpit Lyricist" will tell you that he simply "interprets his soul's whispers." What other MC do you know that could so eloquently state that he "got feed up with being broke so I pressured the pen until it had a stroke." That's Hip-Hop, that's genius, and yes that's MavLo!
So you understand the artist, but do you understand the gambler? If you have seen the movie “Maverick” you’ll know that he is a gambler
and determined to be one of the best. He understands that he must take chances to win, but because every move is crucial, every move is calculated. Now, the calculation calls for you to know him better. So, here's what you need to know, nothing more, nothing less.
Maverick aka MavLo grew up on the East side of Cleveland. You can reference any other so called “street” or “thug” rapper to get the ol’ so familiar story of city life and growing up without a father in the home. Besides the unfortunately common adversities set before Maverick, he graduated from Cleveland's Glenville high school and enrolled in college. After returning to Cleveland after graduating college, Maverick was not content with the 9-5. Even though he found a job in corporate America, you could still find him in the streets of Cleveland and other cities in Ohio flexing his entrepreneurial muscle. Maverick got into selling clothes, CDs, DVDs etc. Eventually, he started recording music and performing at a few local events, but he never thought seriously about becoming an entertainer. Current
life events made Maverick reconsider his musical ambitions. Now, he's back in the building and headed for the top floor.
Maverick aka MavLo is definitely the artist to look out for in 2007. His ability to deliver fresh metaphors, infectious hooks, and thought provoking lyrics is unbelievable. MavLo is the manifestation of the proverbial total package. Supporting him should be the easiest decision any A&R, D.J., record exec., or fan has ever had to make. Look, save your brain cells for something else. MavLo is a sure thing. Back him, and tell everyone else to back up!!!!!
