MC Hammer was born Stanley Kirk Burell on March 30, 1962 in Oakland, California. He was brought up in a very religious family. His first job was a bat/ball boy for the baseball club, the Oakland Athletics. During the breaks of the game, he would entertain the crowd by dancing. His nickname "Hammer" came from his resemblence to "Hammerin'" Hank Aaron. He was also a good baseball player, but did not play for a professional team, so he enlisted in the Navy for three years. His first album was "Feel My Power" which was released in 1987, but his most recognizable album is "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" which had the single "U Can't touch This" on it. That song dominated the radio and MTV in 1990. Later, he had endorsment deals, MC Hammer dolls, and a Saturday morning cartoon. His styles are United States of America, New Jack Swing, Hip-Hop, West Coast Rap, Pop-Rap, and Party Rap. He has released seven albums.
