Me Mom & Morgentaler were a Montreal-based active from 1988 to 1995. initially formed as a ska band set to perform only at a college talent show, the group parlayed their initial reaction into a solid career that included a string of sold-out performances in Quebec and across Canada. They also toured the United States and shared the stage with the English Beat, the Specials, Bad Manners, No Doubt, and many others.
The band's lineup was: Gus van Go (producer, the Stills & Priestess) on guitar and vocals; Kim Bingham (The Kim Band) on vocals; Matt Lipscombe (Mr. Matt et la caravane de bonheur) on bass; Sid Zanforlin (Creature) on drums; John Britton on percussion; John Jordan (the Kingpins) on saxophones; Adam "Bix" Berger on trumpet; and Noah Green and Kasia Hering played accordion during the band's existence.
The group disbanded in 1995, leaving behind 1 EP (Clown Heaven & Hell) and 2 full-length albums (Shiva Space Machine & We Are Revolting). Their orignal ska sound soon became influenced by Montreal's multi-cultural ethic and branched out into pop, folk, jazz, swing, and latin music. They sane in English, French, and Spanish, and had a very diverse league of followers.
