Dardanus Mfalme (Darda King), East African native. Started his music journey at the age of seven as a lead singer of several groups of his age in the streets of Kinondoni, Dar-es-salaam. Darda will always thank his beloved uncles also his wonderful friend Oliver twist M. for giving him touchily guitar lessons which helped him to grow up a very skilled musician.
-At the age 12, Darda got more music lessons from a Dar-es-salaam music genius Mr. Kapizo, he was able to read music and play several music instruments at the end of this course. Between the age of 14-18, Darda founded a band went by the name of T.B.C band with Joel B. and James S.. T.B.C. Band performed in several occasions including graduations, conferences and weddings before its collapse in 1996.
-In between Darda was playing rhythm guitar(second solo) in few bands including church bands. He didn't stop there, when he went to High school in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, he was once a founder and a leader of vocal group went by the name of Wagalatia. Wagalatia group performed in school graduations in almost all schools in Kilimanjaro, in weddings, in churches and funerals. The group survived few more years after Darda left high school.
-During all this Darda wrote a lot verses for songs he will record later on. He wrote a number of verses when he was on his down side like when he was suspended from school several times and life was hard on his side. One of the two subjects he ever got grade 'A' in his school career was Swahili composition, thanks to his closest Swahili teacher the late Mama Bunto. This helped him to become a very talented music writer.
- Moving from his native land (East Africa) to the whole new world (America), did not stop this multi-talented producer/composer/singer from pursuing his music career . He managed to record two albums,
'Shinikizo' in 2003 and 'Nimerudi 2005'
-With his style of knocking down 'wapambe nuksi' and lifting up 'mazichi' which gave him good recognition, Darda is coming hard with his third album 'Nimekubalika 2006' which is gonna hit the stores early 2006. |
