Mike McGinty is a talented singer/songwriter from the United Kingdom. Using all his songwriting skills, Mike has this page here on isound for everyone to enjoy his creations. Mike is a studio musican who hopes to perform in front of a live audience sometime in the future. Following a few struggling years, Mike decieded it was time to do something with himself, and in 2001 he went to college, and studied music production and english literature. Mike gained a credit for his songwriting talent sometime after the course had ended. He spent 6 months in a local studio with a proffesional producer who earlier worked with big names in the music industry, such as BLUR and NORMAN COOK AKA FATBOY SLIM. His producer at the time said "it would be a great idea to make a cover version of WEST END GIRLS" Mike agreed and got to work on a song that took just 3 months to complete. To Mike's surprise, this song later sold over 300 copies, ranging from £2 up to £5 for just 1 song on the CD. A year or so later Mike Donated limited copies of his new song "WHY" to the Piers Simon Appeal, which is a yearly event to help rebuild lives destroyed by the 2004 Tsunami. Piers Simon was a local man who lost his life saving someone elses. The western Daily Press editor told Mike to send his song to the appeal. They loved his song and played it to an audience in it's hundreds, one of them being Michael Eavis from Glastonbury Festival. Mike is still working on new material, which will be released later in the year. Mike is currently setting out to become a radio DJ, as he loves all aspects of music, and wants to make the utmost of his time.
