Minor vs. Major Threat
Has anyone seen the travesty performed by the
Nike skate campaign 'Major Threat'?
They, without permission, took the cover of
the classic Minor threat complete discography
and changed the color, put NIke's on the
guy sitting there, slightly changed his
position, and wrote Major instead of Minor
threat going down the side. This is so fucked
up and hopefully Nike gets their sweatshop
using asses sued.

I've seen it. I think they will just ask
to have them remove the advertisment before
they sue, also I don't understand why they
decided to rip off Minor Threat, is that a
smart marketing ploy? I mean how many people
do you know that listen to Minor Threat wear

somewhere that Nike is trying to get in good
with the "underground"

liable to do. Hopefully it doesnt work and
Nike ends up losing money.But I know that

I think their marking researchers really
messed up unless they have something else up

Major Threat shoes and what not are suposedly
kicking off a new brand of skating shoes that
Nike are making. Nike obviously equates punk
with skateboarding or something of that

so, Nike has apologized, and pulled the ad
from their tour. Ian said 'what the hell
were they thinking?' I hope they sue, but
I don't think they would. Nike says since
it's roots were closely linked to DC they

The "I love Benji" morons on
the other board for one. I think thats mostly
what they were after. People that like real
punk and not for the image (that they would
piss off) are a minority, the majority of
kids these days would be rather easily
exploited by such ploys. (Hence why we'll
be seeing many more perversions of the
