The British urban, R&B phenomenon known as Mis-teeq is made up of emcee, Alesha and vocalists, Sabrina and Su-Elise.
The group first shot to fame in 2001 with their debut albulm : "Lickin' On Both Sides"(which reached number 3 in the UK charts). The albulm was hugely popular with British urban fans and went on to produce five top 10 hits with "Why", "One Night Stand", "All I Want", "B With You" and the double single, "Roll On/This Is How We Do It". By the time that the critically acclaimed albulm finally slipped out of the charts it already had went double-platinum and established Misteeq as a major force in the British hip-hop and R&B scene.
The group won "Best Artist" at the UK garage awards and performed live at the 2002 Brit Awards which they were nominated in the "Best Newcomer" category. They also won "Best Band" at the Maxim Woman of The Year Awards, "Best Dance Act" at the Capitol FM Awards and "Best Garage Act" at the 2002 MOBO(Music Of Black Origin) Awards and among all that, performed at both Glastonbury and Creamfields 2002 and opened The Queen's Golden Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace.
March 2003 saw the realease of possibly THE best British R&B song so far this centuary at the time of writing. It was called "Scandalous" and confirmed once again Mis-teeq as the best female R&B group in the United Kingdom. The song stormed to No. 2 in the UK charts and went on to become radio's 9th most played song of 2003 and appeared on various Coca-Cola adverts
When the dust kicked up by "Scandalous" finally settled, Mis-teeq launched their sophomore albulm, entitled: "Eye Candy". The albulm went straight into the UK Top 10 and spawned chart-bustin' singles such as "Style" and "Can't Get It Back". The albulm also saw collaborations with big-name stars such as Joe Budden and Rishi Rish.
That summer, the girls were a headline event at the V2003 festival where they were one of the best groups on show. During September and October, the group toured the UK for the first time and all their gigs sold out and as if that wasn't enough, they also travelled to Japan to perform at a few concerts and they too, unsuprisingly, sold out.
Towards the end of 2003, the group performed live at the MOBO Awards and recieved two BRIT Award nominations.
The trio have already decided to start work on yet another albulm prefering not to rest on their laurels this early in their careers. They also are planning to break into the American market. Only success is on the horizon for Mis-teeq and they can only get better as time progresses.
