Mobb Deep members Havoc (born Kejuan Muchita) and Prodigy (born Albert Johnson) met at a vocational school in New York in 1989. They quickly bonded because they could relate and they both repped Queensbridge projects. Mobb Deep is known for their gritty lyrics and telling it like it is. Being able to produce themselves, they got a deal with 4th and Broadway records and released their first lp, \"Juvenile Hell\" in 1993. This album didn\'t sell many units but in 1995, they came back with the classic album \"The Infamous\" on Loud records. Which featured \"Survival of the Fittest\", \"Give Up the Goods\", and \"Shook Ones Pt. 2\". A year later, in 1996,controversy surrounded them as they were thrown into the middle of the East coast/West coast \"beef\". 2Pac came at them in \"Hit \'Em Up\" 'Pac really got at Prodigy by bringing up his sickle-cell illness so they responded in \"Drop A Gem On \'Em\", which appered on their 3rd lp, \"Hell On Earth\". They made fun of him getting robbed in N.Y. and said he got raped in jail. The "Hell On Earth" lp wasn\'t as hard-hitting as \"The Infamous\", but it features singles like \"G.O.D. Part 3\", \"Hell On Earth\" and \"Bloodsport\". After a three year hiatus, they released \"Murda Muzik\" in the spring of 1999. It featured the smash single \"Quiet Storm\". Then in 2001, Mobb Deep was really tested, Prodigy mostly. Jay-Z went to Summer Jam 2001 and broadcasted pictures of Prodigy in a leotard and Michael Jackson jackets. Prodigy\'s image really took a fall after that and some people say they fell off. Also, Nas came at Prodigy on "Destriy and Rebuild" on his "Stillmatic" album. Prodigy responded to Jay-Z by calling him gay on tracks "Crawlin'", "Burn" and a couple freestyles But, they released their last lp on Loud records titled \"Infamy\" which featured the crossover single, \"Hey Luv\" with 112 as a guest appearance. They also featured the street singles \"Burn\" and \"Get Away\". Then, in 2004, they came back with \"Amerikaz Nightmare\" which featured the summer smash \"Got It Twisted\" the track remained to stay street while you could still bump it in a club. Later in 2004, rumors about them breaking up and\' ending their 15-year friendship came across the internet and magazines. Littles, a former friend of Mobb Deep came at Prodigy in \"I\'m so Sorry\". But, in P\'s response, \"Bad Blood\"; he also came at Jay-Z, Keith Murray, and 2Pac. Now, in spring 2005, Mobb Deep once again came back with the single, \"Cobra\" and it\'s a hot track.
