Formed in 2004, Moog is a Hungarian indie/garage band. We started our career playing in small pubs/clubs, when the only Hungarian so-called "indie" magazine(Wan2) spotted us and let us play at their first talent show. After the festival, wan2 and other magazines wrote about us. As a result of our gig we have been on one of the national tv channel’s music programmes and our songs have been aired on Radio Cafe, the only Hungarian alternative radio station. In 2005 we made a name for ourself in the Hungarian underground and we could play together with Tokyo Sex Destruction(E), Eiffel(F), Cool Kids of Death(Pl), New Idea Society(USA), Stop It!(USA), Beangrowers(Ml)...etc. We made our first record of 3 songs in the winter of 2005 and called it the ’Clambake Ep’. The reason for the name-giving was that Clambake was the only Elvis movie which had been a failure..:). This summer we had some radio interviews and made another appearance on the national tv.(we played 4 songs live and then had a small interview) Moog also played in Vienna and in Krakow and, of course, at the biggest Central European rock festival (called Sziget festival). We had some appreciative reviews about our Sziget gig in the Hungarian magazines/newspapers and since that show, we can say that we’ve achieved a good deal of reputation in the Hungarian underground. In February we played at the Hungarian Domino Dancing, which was hosted by the chief of Domino Records; Laurance Bell, who discovered Franz Ferdinand and the Arctic Monkeys . We plan to record an LP in the spring, which will be released probably in the U.S. and in several European countries Our concept is to play "cheeky" and sometimes ironic but deep pop songs in garage/indie style! Our songs, just like our live shows are quite passionate, so they attract more and more people to our gigs...
