We are a whole family originally from Australia now living in the UK since NOvember 2003. Our ages range from 14 to 57. Erle Montaigue was just voted the greatest Australian rock voice ever. We have no influences other than real music of any kind. The musicians in this band are real musicians and also teachers of their chosen instruments. Ben Montaigue was the first non-Welsh pianist for the famous Welsh Male Voice Choir (Cor Dinefwr). Erle Montaigue had several hit records from the 60's/70's and has just had a two CD compilation done of his songs from that period. He is also recognised as one of the World's leading self defence teachers along with Ben and Eli who now also teach.
We have had three CD albums recorded. Some of the tracks can be heard from our web site, www.moontagu.org.uk or video on www.youtube.com/taichiworld
Erle Montaigue's first hit single from 1969 is also available from this site.
Our latest CD "Written In Stone" is available for purchase from our web site and selected music stores in the UK.
One of Ben Montaigues numbers featuring Didgeridoo was chosen by the Welsh arm of the Tsunami relief fund as their theme song.
We have literally hundreds of songs that we can all upon and rehearse for any length gig, however, we prefer to work at two hour long gigs. We do not do covers. Our repertoire consists of many different genre including rock, pop, blues, jazz, instrumental. Mainly aimed at an adult audience. We are a Family Band with Family values and our music reflects this. We do not do heavy metal or "Modern Rock", nor do we jump around. We are musicians first. |
