Biography

Murphy Lee grew up in St. Louis, Missouri (the home of notable Dirty South rappers: Nelly, Chingy, and Ludacris). Growing up, the rapper never really thought he would be famous. Although always having a love for music, Lee was nick named “school boy” by friends because of his constant attention to his studies. Lee also hung out with his older brother KyJuan (who happened to be Nelly’s best friend). Before he even released his debut album in 2003, Lee had already made a name for himself by being featured on numerous hit albums. In 2000, he was featured on Nelly’s debut, 9x platinum album entitled Country Grammar. In 2001, Lee was featured on the St. Lunatics debut, platinum album entitled Free City. In 2002, Lee was featured on Nelly’s 6x platinum sophomore album, Nellyville. In 2003, Lee released his first album entitled Murphy’s Law. The album has been acclaimed by critics and fans alike. The album contains the Billboard hit, “Shake Ya Tail Feather,” which features stars P. Diddy and Nelly. The single was also placed on the Bad Boys 2 Soundtrack. Another single is “Luv Me Baby.” Lee admits that he does not enjoy singing about thugs and money. Rather, he likes rapping about women. He claims that women are his sole inspiration for all of his songs. The single, ‘Murphy Lee,” is a knock off of Marvin Gaye’s classic hit, “Mercy Mercy Me.” The single was produced by Jermaine Dupri. Dupri also produced Lee’s single, “What Da Hook Gone Be.” (Lee says this is his favorite song off his debut album). Lee demonstrated his impeccable business skills by striking a deal with Champs Sports. He negotiated with the company and now his videos are played in the stores nationwide. Also, every customer received a sample of Lee’s debut album with every purchase. Lee is set to begin filming a commercial for the sports company.

First off Murph is hella hotter that Nelly! Nelly for one is gettin to old to be singin songs about tryin to get wit anybody he need to settle down. Murph is sexy because of his skin tone and dreads.
