Playing acoustic guitar driven soul/jazz/Rnb & rock with a latin twist the Indie Soul Movement present something fresh and exciting to the music arena.Influenced by the rhythms emanating from South America and Africa, aswell as the great songwriters in popular
music, they seek to captivate the listener not only rhythmically but melodically and lyrically aswell.
The nucleus of the Band comprises;
Mutch Katsonga(acoustic Guitar/vocals & main songwriter),joined occasionally by additional personnel on bass guitar & percussion.As the band think of themselves as a movement there is no band member restriction and they will incorparate various other instruments as long they compliment the overall sound.
Musical influences include Aaron Neville,George Michael, Bill Withers,Tracy Chapman, Stevie Wonder and Sting and the Blue Turtles(specifically although the "Police" were good also).They have been compared to The Lighthouse Family, George Michael and Seal.They have released their debut independently produced LP "Jagged Edge Frontier" which is available on over 100 websites online including itunes,emusic,allmusic.com and many others.Also you can E-mail us if you are interested in getting a copy.
