| Early June 2004, the band Faces of Freedom formed. The following summer on May 21st 2005 they played their fist show at The Grand Illusion in Middletown, Ohio. All though they had only been a full band for three months at this time, the crowd showed great enthusiasm and Faces of Freedom developed a great following. Soon after, they changed their name to My Wasted Youth, which caught on to the many fans they gained. Both names were derived from their freedom from addictions and desire to become everything they should already be. Since then, their urge to perform and be heard has overtaken them.
Each member has had a difficult road to follow but they are thankful for the goals and destinations they have reached. Coming from different backgrounds has played a major role in where they each are now including the development of the band. Singing vocals is Josh Miller whose talent was discovered eight months ago the first time he picked up a microphone at the first practice he attended. Kyle Short plays guitar along with Geoff Hill who has been with the band for four months. Scott Perfetti, along with Kyle, has been in the band from the beginning.
My Wasted Youth is a faith based band that keeps their music “clean”. They don’t use fowl language or obscenities, yet still allow themselves to sing about issues and experiences their hardcore fans can enjoy. The band members, as well as their fans, enjoy getting into the rhythm of their music. You will see all of them banging their heads, interacting with the crowd, and jumping around on stage. My Wasted Youth is a very hardworking band, practicing every given chance, staying in touch with fans and venues, and pouring out their hearts through their music that is written. This is their only passion, this is their only desire. Music is what motivates them to do something better with themselves than letting their lives go to waste.
