Sit back, grab a cold one, and have a listen. All songs written by John LaMain. NDO also has quite the extended musician family. Personnel changes over the years were a somewhat regular occurrence. Bill White and Mark Fry were the original rythym section. We're talking mid- seventies, when the band was doing weekly shows based out of Huntington Beach under their original moniker, Havana. A MASSIVE following usually ended up with the Local police agencies getting involved in one way or another. The band had quite the 'special relationship' with the Huntington Beach P.D. At one point in time the band was 86'd from Huntington Beach forever. FOREVER! Thus, out of necessity, the Tour of the Neighborhoods was born. From peeing in living rooms to the raiding of liquor cabinets from Long Beach to Leucadia. Tussles with Police in nearly every city in 4 counties led to threats of jail time, and even worse, confiscated equipment. The crowds were too much. Rumour has it that the National Guard was deployed during a huge show somewhere in Huntington Beach near the mushroom farm. Thousands of people, tear gas cannisters, and mushrooms??. Wow.... Quite a night, I bet. A thousand more stories......The Cuckoo's Nest, The Golden Bear, 3rd and Lake, Mark's shop. The list goes on and on...................... |
