| Guitarist/Vocalist & Songwriter Neil Pybus had an early affinity to music, beginning with guitar lessons and listening to borrowed Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Rory Gallagher and King Crimson records as early as age 5. Pybus followed his passion for music throughout his education by studying Popular and World Music at University and taking a PGCE in secondary music education. Pybus first band, Obelisk, along with their own tracks, covered songs by Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses and Jimi Hendrix. It was his first attempt at being a vocalist, an interest which he would later pursue. By this time, Pybus was studying music at University and studied a wide variety of musical genres and broadened his musical ability and tastes. Soon Pybus was interested in expanding his talent as a musician, and collaborated with a variety of seasoned players on everything from film music soundtracks to jazz ensembles and latin groups. On his return from University, Pybus longed to re-connect with his former band mates from Obelisk. The reunion proved to be a fruitful one , the band renamed themselves as Electric Ocean and successfully played a series of gigs across the North West with Pybus taking on guitar and vocal duties. However, internal conflicts led to the band disbanding and left Pybus looking for a group that would be more musically open minded. House Of Cain were formed in early 2005 and have thus far played a series of well received gigs across the Northwest and are working on material for their debut album. His music blends his musical experience and covers a broad range of styles including rock, blues, acoustic & folk music to name but a few. Enjoy the music! |
