p00r nekromantix i used to love these guys.. and then everyone started to, they are getting a tad bit too overated and ive gotten to the point where i cant stand them anymore. i hate all these wannabe psychobilly kids that think they're cool cus they wear red lipstick and have pomps and then you ask them what bands they like and trhe only ones they know are nekromanitx, horrorpops and tiger army, at one point i had love for all of those bands, but now...ugh gag me.

oh and, there is nothing wrong with redlipstick and pomps, i occasionaly rock them but..ugh its so goddamn trendy, HOW DOES ONE GO ABOUT BEING DIFFERENT IN THE WORLD. im begginning to think its impossile. | rockmehard |
so because its becoming popular, you dont like it anymore?
nekromantix are a good band. theres no denying it. so of course they deserve some more recognition.
what other bands do you like? | shadowbug26 |
it just annoys me that these good bands are being overated and then copied. i dont think they suck.. i just dont dig em anymore.
recently i've moved on to the classic rock side of things, bob dylan, the doors, eric clapton,,, you know.
i like alot of indie too.
you? | rockmehard |
um, lately ive been listening to mostly psychobilly..tiger army, 12 step rebels, mad sin, demented are go, etc..
and, a lot of ska, but mostly the main stream kinda ska like reel big fish, big d and the kids table, etc.. i havnt gotten into the underground ska...yet.
and other random bands like afi, the blood brothers, the cure, social distortion... blah, blah. stuff like that. | shadowbug26 |
well i like them..but i still think tiger army are the best psychobilly band ever | skank_dog |
i love tiger army, but theyre not all that psychobilly. i wouldnt say theyre the best psycho band, but theyre definitly one of my favorite bands, if not my favorite.. | shadowbug26 |

Why bother caring what other people think about you. No matter how hard you try their'll at least be 1 person interested in the exact same things you are. So just give up the whole big anti-conformist schtick. Because real anti-conformists don't give a shit what other people think about 'em. | HeyOldMan |
It doesn't make sense to me why a person would no longer like a band because others begin to like the band and they become more known?
A good band get more fans. Like me. This is the first time I am hearing about Nekromantix, and this is the first time to their forum, and the first thread I read is about someone saying they no longer like them because they are getting more fans!!
WTF?
Meanwhile, the person says they are getting more into classic rock. Now go figure that. They are leaving Nekromantix because they are a band that is STARTING to gain some fans, and they are going to listen to bands that have had HUGE FAN BASES for DECADES!!!
??????? What's wrong with this picture? | GrayBeard |
i kinda understand the not liking a band because their fan base got too big. well, i dont understand not liking them, but i can see why someone would not want to go to their shows or would want to get into a band with a smaller fan base.
you see, small shows are the best. when you can get to the front of the stage with no problem, talk to the band members, and you know that every person in the audience is in love with that band as much as you are, its amazing. but when a band gets really big, tickets are harder to get, theres no way you can get to the front of the crowd unless you camp out or something, theres NO way you can have a conversation with any of the members of the band, and theres gonna be people in the audience who just like the band cause its the 'cool' thing to do. | shadowbug26 |
Becca, I see your point about the neat part of having access to a no so well know band. Yeah, once they become big time a lot of that intimacy is lost.
I like discovering "new" bands, and by "new" I mean bands that I know nothing about. They might be well known bands or just starting.
But if I had to pick, I think I would like to find bands that are just starting out and haven't made it yet. That way it is kinda neat to see them get discovered. | GrayBeard |
