Nick Cannon was born in Sand Diego, California. When he was eight years old he became interested in music when his deceased grandfather left him a bunch of instruments. Cannon’s first song was recorded at his home on his boom-box. Cannon soon became interested in publicly performing musically, and doing stand up comedy. He soon joined Da Boom Squad, a San-Diego based trio, that played at Billboard Live. Da Boom Squad became so popular that they even opened up for such hit acts as Will Smith, Montell Jordan, and LFO. It was when they were opening up for Will Smith that Cannon met his soon-to-be inspiration and mentor. Him and Smith have created a very close relationship.
When he was just 16 years old, Cannon moved to Hollywood, California hoping to gain some fame. He began doing shows at local comedy clubs such as, The Improv, The Laugh factory, The Comedy Store. He also performed on stage with such greats as Chris Tucker, Damon Wayans, and Chris Rock. He soon got a spot as the warm-up comedian for the Nickelodeon show, All that. Cannon soon hosted the Nickelodeon All-That Music Festival and more. The show traveled to 47 different cities and featured performers such as B*Witched, Blaque, A-Teens, and LFO. Cannon then performed for TeeNick In Concert.
Cannon’s popularity was growing so fats that Nickelodeon gave him his own show, The Nick cannon Show. The show featured celebrity guests such as Eddie Murphy, Britney Spears, Usher, the Soprano’s Joe Pantoliano, Mary J. Blige, Master P. and Lil’ Romeo. Cannon soon got the starring role in Fox’s film, Drumline. The movie, which was released on December 13, 2002 was about a talented drummer who received a full scholarship to an Atlanta college. The soundtrack, which was done by Jive Records, contained Cannon’s song: “I’m Scared of you.” Later that year, Cannon also appeared as an autopsy agent in a cameo on Will Smith’s film, Men In Black II.
In 2003, Cannon re-did the old Will Smith and Jazzy Jazz song, “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” with Lil’ Romeo and 3LW. The song was featured on the Paramount Pictures/ Nickelodeon film soundtrack for Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Cannon also appeared on, and hosted MTVs hit show, TRL. Cannon then did a re-make of the 1987 hit film, Can’t Buy Me Love. The film is about a nerdy kid who pays a cheerleader to make him popular.
In 2003, Cannon released his self-titled debut album on Jive Records. The first single was “Your Pops Don’t Like Me (I Really Don’t Like That Dude).” Other singles from the album have been: “Feeling Freaky” (featuring B2K) and “Gigolo.”

but, that's what i think | cirae13 | NAW BOO-BOO.DON'T WORRY ABOUT HOW NICK CANNON 65-PACK IS.WORRY BOUT HOW LL COOL J HAVE A BIG ASS HEAD.NA B*@#%. | PLAYGIRLLEELEE | I know Nick Cannon personally, so I'm gonna have to say, acting because loves to act, he loves being noticed as someone who played a role of a character. Take notice, he has one album. To him, his acting career is more important than his music carrer. | Suspect | | | |
