Nigel Graham and the band certainly cause a reaction wherever they play, Graham’s jaw dropping guitar work has stunned audiences. From the moment he walks on and lets loose with an impossibly fast salvo of notes, the scene and pace of the night is set. The energy of the band does not let up and at some performances you could be forgiven for thinking you are watching the climax of the show rather than the opening number.
The Blues Reaction began in February 2002 when Pete Willsher advertised his wares as a bass player on the internet. This was spotted by Graham and following a brief meeting they got together to build the foundations of a band. Primarily it was to promote Graham's solo CD "Beat The Blooze" but also include blues rock material by some of the great guitar players in their repertoire, with Graham's wish that all songs in the set vary in style and tempo. With Pete's rock influences and staggering bass runs, Graham had found the ideal partner. Several months were spent trying to get their first drummer and on the advice of a friend, Graham gave Patrick Ross a call. Patrick had played briefly in a band Graham was forming back in 1973.
The Blues Reaction is a powerful three piece band. As was recently commented at a recent festival gig ‘You guys make one hell of a big sound for only three guys’
The band have made appearances at the ‘Rockinbeerfest’ and also supported ‘Wishbone Ash’ at the Junction in Cambridge in April ’05. September 2006, sees the release of the bands first album ‘Play Dirty’. Check out our website www.bluesreaction.co.uk for further info.
