NightWish is a progressive folk rock duo that was formed by Linda Chartier from Scotland and long time local rock/jazz guitarist Steve Lam. Together with Linda’s angelical voice and Steve’s passionate guitar playing, they have evolved into a very unique style with beautiful harmonies that is quite rare these days in the local music scene.
Linda Chartier (Vocals) - Linda has performed in England and Scotland for a number of years, as a member of a band, a duo partner and as a solo artist. Linda has been classically trained and has a wide vocal range that lets her perform in many styles, including Rock, Folk, Country, Jazz ballads and upbeat numbers. For the last few years Linda has been gigging in Clubs across the central belt of Scotland both as part of a Duo and as a Solo performer and has developed a repertoire of more than 150 numbers.
Steve Lam (Guitar and Vocals) - Trained in classical music and played with Jazz musicians in early days, Steve was the lead guitarist with Diana Dee (famous local/Texas diva) in the 70’s. He has since performed as lead guitar and bass player with many local bands. He was the original bass player of Powerline, which was voted number one classic rock band in SE Texas in 2001. He has great ear in all music and he plays with vigorous passion that is seldom seen.
