Ninepages is the result of two bands formed around January 2005. Eliot Webb, Russ Martin & Francois de la Rouviere met over various band forums and message boards and formed a melodic rock/metal band called Keyaro. James Brown parted ways with Chapter at the end of 2004 and started looking for a new band with his friend and bassist Alex Bowness. Eliot had been a fan of Chapter and took the opportunity to have a session with Alex and James, with Russ filling in as a session drummer. Both bands we're off to a great start so Eliot suggested that the two separate bands have a session together, which turned out to be a great success. The newly formed 5 piece argued for about two months on a band name across nine pages of posts on their personal forum and it just seemed apt to adopt the Ninepages moniker.
Alex departed from Ninepages at the end of December 2005 but the band found an excellent replacement in the form of Dave Pennell, who has had years of experience in gigging and touring. The newly formed 5 piece have started 2006 by writing some new material for their up and coming gigs in February and March.
The members all have very different tastes and influences which contribute to the Ninepages sound. Influences range from Sikth, Deftones, Seether to Meshuggah.
The band recorded their first demo in May 2005 and subsequently played their very first gig at the Mean Fiddler in Tottenham Court Road London. A second demo was recorded, entitled "Walking through Timelines", in November 2005, which so far have received great reviews. The drum recording on the 2nd demo was done at Moon Studios with the rest including the mixing, and production being done by Francois at home. The third demo, as yet untitled, was recorded in the same manner as the previous demo and was released in April of this year.
So far the band has received great reviews:

Finding your feet in the London rock scene can be difficult enough. But to come out of it with a self produced testament to how good bands in the capital can be, credit has to be handed to Ninepages.
"Walking Through Timelines" opens on a slow note but soon burns up into a pulsing guitar and pounding drum line. Obviously taking cues from the likes of Sikth, Blindside and The Used, the band mixes the light and the dark with every scream and shout. Even before we've left the first track, the talent is there to be seen.

“With shades of Deftones and Perfect Circle, Nine Pages bring their own tastes of dramatic explosive rock music to the world with their second demo. This EP opens with the heavy riffery of something that feels familiar and like an old pair of jeans fits just right. James gives a great vocal performance while the guitars roll their way around a couple of tasty riffs, the second song, 'porcelain' keeps the power and volume but slows the tempo and brings forth a good rock song tinged with some emo feeling, track 3 'A hard step to take' returns to a more agressive sound with the guitars dropping the rolling riffery to introduce more angular chops to compliment the overall feel of the song while the forth song brings out some melody and gentler rock emo sound that the band do rather well. Four great songs all with their own style which emphasise the bands quality, with interviews lined up and several singles penned in for release this year nine pages are due to be heard of again and again.

“Promo track Walking Through Timelines is a tour-de-force of powerful and catchy guitar licks, multi-frequency vocal twists and destined to be on our playlist for a good while yet.
