| Dubsters Nucleus Roots are back out on the road this spring airing tracks from their fourth studio album Nucleus Roots. ‘the heart of the matter’. The album, released in March 2004, illustrates why Nucleus are gaining a fine reputation for their accomplished productions as well as their high octane live shows. This new material is being unveiled throughout Europe to their ever growing legion of adoring fans.
Nucleus Roots formed in 1995 from the ashes of legendary Manchester punky/reggae outfit Community Charge. With a few line up shuffles along the way the band have now developed a cohesive, creative unit. Recent years have seen extended periods touring the continent and building an enthusiastic following with many sell out shows in France, Holland and Belgium, along with stunning UK festival performances including the famed Jazz Stage at Glastonbury. The bands three previous releases, ‘Nucleus Roots’ from 2000, ‘Nucleus Roots in Dub’, 2001 & ‘Universal Love’ 2002 were very well received and made them a regular feature on all respected sound systems as well as achieving Independent chart positions in France and Belgium. The new album is accompanied by a storming 10 inch, released by popular demand. This features Simon Dan singing ‘Jah Rule’ and ‘Let there be light’ by Moses.
Summer 2003 saw Nucleus raising a storm at festivals across the Continent, highlights being the enormous Dour festival in Belgium, the rocking Respect festival, Exeter and the beautiful Worldbeat Weekend Festival.
Nucleus Roots have a massive stage presence, with a mix of real instruments, heavyweight digital sound system vibe and a positive message. The current live shows feature the vocal talents of the heartical Moses, versatile DJ Country Culture and the mystical Simon Dan, preaching tolerance peace and harmony to all who are prepared to listen. This summer will also see guest appearances from Ossie Gad of the legendary Naturalites. With the solid backing of Paul Lush’s subterranean bass lines and the bubbling keyboards of Peter Technical they produce a contagiously danceable, uplifting roots sound.
