I guess the best way to start is to add myself to the countless others who have the Beatles [John mainly !! ]as the main influence for the music in me . But it started even before that with my mother as the number one reason I have any talent at all . She taught three girls the important basics of music , and taught us to love all.We mainly stuck with folk and pop back then . Well , through it all I have found the ability to write . Unfortunately I was stricken with multiple sclerosis and my music came to a screeching halt . I am now in a slow process of getting as many of my songs recorded as I can . The real "being a musician"started with myself and my husband , when he could , playing the local stages as an opening gig . Before that , it was "Pam's here with her guitar !! " ,as I sat down on the grass , and started playing . I must say, mine is a unique style of playing guitar [ a 12 string Ovation is what I wrote all 70 of my songs on .], really , the only reason I picked up the guitar is so I could accompany myself so I could sing. [ my mothers gift !!! ]
Included on my songs are some very talented people who have been extremely sweet to help me out by playing on them . The musicians on this song , "Lonely Tears " , are :Monty Byrom on guitar , John Snyder jr. on drums , Don Shiff on the Chapman stick [very cool instument !], and me on vox . I wrote this song at a time when my daughter and my husband , her step father , were not getting along . it kind of tells a tale of misunderstaning , and hope . As i hope you will like it ! Be patient with me , Im new at this computerized stuff !!!
And now about stand alone , that chorus woke me up one early morning , so i wrote it down . Later that day , the man who plays the keys in that song, Rick Davis , came over to talk to my husband Duane , well I was sitting listening to them , when my head got a tune to match the mood !! trip , huh ?! anyway , that man is the father of johnathan davis , you know , korn ? ,he is so talented , ...too !!! like father like son !! Then there is the sax . the player is the wonderfully talented Paul Perez !! That sax melts me !! So to the mistake I made! Running Scared is a good song , but somehow the front of it got chopped off , so it sounds kinda wierd , I know it was done as we uploaded it in our computer from our studio tape . oops!! Next , is the one I just put in today , So Stay Tuned . The people on it are : Monty Byrom , John Snider jr. , Don Shiff , and Max , one finger on one note !! well,as i upload , i am adding any new info on the songs , like the one i just uploaded . peace of mind . about all there is to say is this was one of the first songs I wrote , kind of basic , just my husband , John Snyder jr. , and me !
as for stand alone is about a man i talked to a few times while waiting for the school bus to pick up my kids in the morning . he was a veteren and was made homeless because of difficulties from it . |
