On January 10, 1953 Patricia Mae Andrzejewski entered the world in Brooklyn, NY. Pat attended Lindenhurst's Daniel Street Elementary School in Long Island where she began vocal coaching and classical training in opera. She also sang in the school and church choir. After completing high school Pat married Dennis Benatar and moved to Richmond, VA. During her residence in Richmond, Pat worked as a bank teller and a singing waitress. By the late 1970's Pat returned to New York City and began singing cabaret songs, performing in nightclubs and became a regular performer at Cacth a Rising Star. By this time she and Dennis were no longer married. Pat eventually signed with Chrysalis Records and in 1979 relased her first LP, In the Heat of the Night. Benatar became one of the most successful and best selling recording artist of the 1980s. She scored platinum sales with six albums, her third album Precious Time rose to the #1 position on the Billboard charts. Pat won four Grammy Awards for Best Rock Vocal Performance (Female) in consecutive years (1980-1983). Smash hit singles such as Love is a Battlefield, We belong, Hit Me With Your Best, and Invincible have endeared her to millions of fans worldwide. On February 20, 1983 Pat married band member and producer Neil Giraldo. Pat and Neil are proud and devoted parents to their two daughters Haley and Hana. They continue to embark on summer tours and still delight scores of devoted fans.
