Pete Barbeck & 7th Son are based in Dallas, Texas. Formed in 1994, the band has released 3 CDs to date (Seventh Son 1994, Rio Bravo 1999, Pete's Up All Night 2005).
Pete Barbeck & 7th Son perform 180 shows annually, to a loyal Dallas area following at nightclubs and festivals. Traveling out of the Dallas area, the band has performed from South Padre Island to Eureka Springs Arkansas; Tuscon Arizona to Tyler Texas (Texas is BIG). Generally described as "blues based Americana" by the local media, the band loves to rock as well. "Seventh Son", the band's first CD release (1994), is rock in style, slightly alternative in sound. The second release "Rio Bravo" (1999), is blues-based rock, or blues with a hard edge ala Gary Moore. The band's third release, "Pete's Up All Night" (2005)mixes styles; country and rock overtones on top of mainly blues compositions. "Pete's Up All Night" is Pete Barbeck & 7th Son's best work to date. Reviewed in Buddy Magazine as "blues based Americana", call it what you want, style du jour, we don't care.
