Formed in 1998, Pets or Meat took their name from the Michael Moore film entitled "Roger and Me". POM mix many styles of rock with a measure of hick humor. The band lyrically covers many topics not often discussed in todays music, such as the superstore syndrome that has hit America, the incestual relations of backwoods hick folk, the loss of American jobs to foreign countries, and the mind boggling psychotic thoughts of a preacher's son, and interweaves them with bizarre funky/alternative/headbanging scores.
Pets or Meat is now in the studio completing ta follow up EP (5 or 6 songs) that will be released this spring (06). Expect a strange variety of melody, manic music, and the strangest lyrics you've ever heard.
With new management from the California based company Fourth World Media, Pets or Meat have set their sites on the movie soundtrack industry and are looking forward to some bigger shows in the near future. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Pets or Meat...you won't regret it.

Special: This is basically our anti-NASCAR song. Most of the people that are from our neck of the woods live and breathe this so-called sport. It gets annoying listening to them go on and on about their "drivers".
Wrong Answer: This song is about the uppity people that feel that they can do no wrong and that they are better than everyone else.
Cotton Candy Jimbo: This is a strange song about a junkie that gets beat up and hallucinates that the clown on a bag of cotton candy is there to help him out (at least that's MY interpretation, but I didn;t write the lyrics). This song features the aggressive growls of Gar Keesee, formerly of Victim and current front man to 9GT of Columbus, OH) |
