Biography
Pictures of Then formed in 2007 and immediately set to work finding a sonic balance between reverence for the past and vision of the future, fashioning a sound that reflected their aptly chosen name (www.citybeat.com). Their often diverse sound, ranging from sonic rock anthems to Beatles-esque sing-alongs, perhaps finds a common thread through their unique and appealing vocal stylings and a tendency to fuse indie rock with retro-style. City Pages' Brian Baker, may have best described the music of Pictures of Then as "spirited and buzzy, swung with Glam/Pop abandon, channeling Psychedelic Folk roots through howling Indie Rock branches..."
On the road the band continues to attract new fans wherever they go, with featured accolades on college radio, the university scene at schools like St Joseph's University (Philadelphis, PA), and recently at Red Gorilla Music Fest (Austin, TX). "Pictures Of Then was one of the top performances I caught at this years festival. The band started with a full room and after they had been playing ten minutes the room was PACKED and you couldn't move from people outside the venue trying to get in. This band is amazing and they will be back every year for RedGorilla if I have my way." (Brian Waymire, Director - RedGorilla Music Fest)
New tracks have been laid for a forthcoming album, as the band continues to maintain an aggressive touring schedule across the country. |
