The first hit from plus49 only lasts 5 seconds, rotates 100 - 200 times per day and was heard by more than 15 million people in the past two years. plus49 have probably composed the most popular airport gong which delights pilots, stewardesses and passengers of Cologne / Bonn airport (Germany). These 5 seconds offered the opportunity of adding an entire album (entitled “all the beautiful things”) of ten marvellous pop songs – a 41 minutes and 26 seconds-vacation.
The album is the result of 20 productive months of the award-winning (amongst others the “MidemNetAward”) Cologne producers Simon Hof and Martin Lange. Since Spring 2003, plus49 produced three long players, directed about twenty music videos, as well as a television- and radio play, produced the new sound design for Cologne / Bonn airport with the “formfindung” designers and composed sounds and songs for various TV formats.
“all the beautiful things” is an album lost in reverie with tender melodies - an urban electronic, authentic sound and moreover unobtrusive beats. But besides the “beautiful things” according to plus49’s album title, there´s also a piece of wood-chip wallpaper underneath the flawless surface of the songs. The city mag “Prinz” perfectly described the album by calling its songs "Uplifting sound gems". The electronic music magazine "Raveline" even discovered a certain "provocation" in the "calmness" of the album’s songs.
