with all do respect i love the police and what they have contributed to the music world....but i was wondering if anyone knew why they desired to write a song about a teacher in love with there student "dont stand so close to me"	unknownsoldier

Well, Sting was a teacher in Newcastle early on and used to write songs while the kids studied. He was inspired to write that one from his experience as a teach as well as the book "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokov (boring book, I think) about a student falling for her teacher.	hellbob
