Proof was born DeShaun Dupree Holton on October 2, 1973 in Detriot MI. Proof lived in East Detriot all his life where he met long time friend Eminem. Proof met Eminem at Centerline High in Detriot. Eminem was handing out flyers for a talent show he was rapping at. Proof and Eminem became fast friends, and went everywhere together. They lived down the street from each other for most of their lives.
Proof started generating buzz hosting freestyle battles at The Hip Hop Shop which was a T Shirt store by day, and club at night. Proof was unbeatable and was literally was never beat. He held the unbeatable title until it closed.
Proof started the group D12 which was a team of Detroit \'s freshest MCs. D12 was signed to Eminem\\\'s label Shady Records in 1999 and Proof became Em \'s hype man. You never saw Eminem prefroming without Proof.
Proof then started a solo work putting out mixtapes on his own lable, Iron Fist records. Proof put out, \\\"Searching For Jerry Garica\\\" which was his most succesfull CD. The album featured appearances by Method Man, B Real, 50 Cent, Rude Jude, Obie Trice, Nate Dogg, D12, 1st Born (who now runs Iron Fist now), and J-Hill. It didn\\\'t fly off the selves, but it did pretty well.
But on April 11, 2006 Proof got in a fight at The CCC Club on 8 Mile Road in Detriot. The two took it outside, and some people say that Proof shot the man he got in a fight with and the bouncer shot him to save the man. But the real story is Proof got in a fight and Proof pistol whipped the man and the man tryed to wrestle the gun way and was shot in the process. The bouncer then shot Proof because the man that was shot was Keith Bender and was cousins with the bouncer.
Proof was buried in a 100 K Gold Coffin in his famous jump suit and a Billups Jersey drapped over him.
