Puddle of Mudd consists of Wesley Reid Scantlin (guitar/vocals), Paul James Phillips (guitar), Douglas John Ardito (bass), and Greg David Upchurch (drums). Prior to getting together, the members had different jobs. Scantlin used to be a construction worker, cook, and dish washer. Phillips used to be a manager at a local record store. Ardito used to be a pizza delivery boy and a bassist for a band called Cellophane. Upchurch used to be a dish washer, house painter, and he was in a band with Sound Garden’s Chris Cornell called Eleven.
Puddle of Muss is unique because it was not formed by four best friends who were playing music for a long time. The group originally stemmed from Kansas City. They decided to name themselves Puddle of Mudd because the river next to their recording studio flooded one night after large rainfall. The group began to progress when Scantlin went to the Family Values Tour. While Limp Bizkit was playing, he gave his demo tape to a security guard and asked him to give it to Limp Bizkit front man, Fred Durst. Durst liked what he heard and contacted Scantlin. Unfortuantely, the other band members has left the band. Scantlin tried to contact them and get them to come back, but they refused. Thus, Scantlin flew solo to Los Angeles where he and Durst began to look for prospective members. That is where they found the other three members.
Puddle of Mudd’s debut album was called Come Clean. The album sold over 100,000 copies in only a few weeks. One month later, the band toured with Godsmack. They then went on the 2001 Family Values Tour with groups such as Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, and Staind. Puddle of Mudd received even more publicity when Scantlin, Durst, and Jimmy Page performed together at the 2001 MTV Europe Awards.

New video is out
The new music video for spin you around came
out finally. I wasn't too impressed, but
it was okay, i thought Heel over head was
slightly better, because the concept of spin
you around was too oringinal, and too mild,
however it was still a good video, but
it's really just another story of a boy
who likes a girl, that he can't be with,
so you get my idea, i'm outta here.
