| The power of collision defined in sound.....puncture vine blends the intensity of hard-core rock and industrial with the energy of electronica and house, and the delivery style of hip-hop. Two female and one male vocalist with drastically different styles, deliver an enormously dynamic, but cohesive musical experience. A wall of high energy electronics pounds and growls underfoot, as the future crawls down the vine.......
Puncture Vine is a project of three experienced Canadian musicians / composers, ( including myself, Jeff Carter, and singer / songwriters Hayley Ordiway, and Sylviane Leblanc ) We have a collective need to push the boundaries of musical expression. We combine styles ( pop / industrial / classical orchestration / hiphop / rock / whatever....) to come up with new vibes. Our music uses electronics as a creative tool, never as a crutch. We have worked with many other brilliant southern Ontario artists on our past two albums, "Burn" and "Unravelling Fire", such as guitarist / singer / songwriters Michael Cere, and Charlena Russell ( www.myspace.com/charlenarussell). We have released two full length albums to date, "Burn", and ""Unravelling Fire", with some degree of success, including many sold out shows and some magor toronto radio (cfny) station airtime. The band has been through uncountable membership changes, and has completly crumbled at least twice. But yet, we persevere, knowing that what we have put together is worth fighting to keep alive. Our third, and easily strongest album, "Ignite", is set to be released in late 2005. Lyrically more demanding, and musically much more direct and to the point, the band has re-energized personally, musically, and spiritually. More to come.... |
