On January 1st, 2008 in the suburbs of New Jersey musical ideas were plaguing a teenage mind. Mikey Beagan (formerly of Casual Wish) who was still in the band at the time was contemplating to start his own solo side-project to fall back on when he knew that the band's break-up was inevitable come the summer of their Senior year of High School. Mikey started to piece together thoughts, ideas, the direction of his new project while he was still in Casual Wish.
Casual Wish peacefully, and mutually called it quits after their Farewell Show in their hometown Wall, New Jersey. A strange, new found feeling of independence came over him. After being in a well-structured band for 6 years, it was nice to take the reins in his own direction. Mikey did what all bands must do today to be recognized: make a
MySpace page. He recorded scratchy 30-second clips of some things he was currently was working on, and some people began to take notice that maybe he had some potential going solo.
He also started making what he calls "VidBlogs", which are two to three minute update videos posted on the Radio Romantics MySpace page. Mikey did what he knew best to keep viewers coming back to visit his page: make them laugh. Each of the Radio Romantics VidBlogs has gotten countless hits within their first week of being posted on the page by showing Mikey doing things like: riding scooters, playing with monkeys and eating whipped cream. Humor prevails again! Much like the live videos of Casual Wish, or any behind the scenes videos posted on YouTube, Mikey and the rest of the guys knew how to spark a laugh and make their shows entertaining and fun.
