Rammstein was formed in 1993. The group named themselves (adding an "m") after the location of the German tragedy that killed over 80 people. This was a result from a crash of an American Air Show. The literal translation of ram stein is a battering ram made of stone.
Rammstein became known for its new artistic sound for industrial rock, and their awsome shows filled with some bizzaire stunts. Till Lindman would sing entire songs while on fire (literaly) from head to toe. There are also other stunts such as the tourch mask and the dildo seen.
Their first album Herzlied or Heart ache set grounds for the stage performance. Soon Rammstein became well known throughout Europe (including Sweden) and Australia by the time of their second album release, Sehnsuct (longing).
Within weeks, entries on other countries' charts had Sehnsucht connecting with Prodigy, Radiohead, and the Rolling Stones on Billboard's cumulative Eurochart.
Later in 1999 came the release of Rammstein's Live aus Berlin. Their first concert CD(which presented the "dildo" to millions of fans. and put Till and Flake in jail for a day)
A year later Rammstein had come out with another album, Mutter "mother".
Which a new "Heavier" sound, campared their past albums.
