Rascal Flatts is a country-pop trio consisting of Gary Levox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney. The group was founded by second cousins, DeMarcus and Levox, who are both from Colubus, Ohio. Rooney, who is from Picher, Oklahoma, joined the group later. Rascal Flatts was soon signed to Lync Street Records. The groups debut album, Rascal Flatts, was a mix of country, pop, and R&B. The group’s first single, “Prayin’ For Daylight,” did very well. Their second single was “This Everyday Love.” In October 2002, Rascal Flatts released their sophomore album entitled Melt. The album’s first single, “These Days,” was soon released. Melt sold one million copies in only eight weeks.
