| Rebel Hearts is a vocal group of three ruggedly handsome mountain men; Darren Castle, Don McDowell & Kody Anderson. They combine to create a unique blend of country & rock, where the influences of Elvis, Eagles and Garth combine to allow their Rebel Hearts to soar.
Rebel Hearts was created in 1997 by singer/songwriter Don McDowell. He then recruited Canadian pianist/songwriter/producer Steve Soucy to combine with House of Tunes (HOT) Entertainment & McD’s Mountain Music. Don added lifetime friend & lead singer Darren Castle to front the group and they began creating hit songs & great records for Rebel Hearts.
Rebel Hearts became the 1997 & 1998 independent country group of the year with their debut CD “Runnin’ Free”. Rebel Hearts followed with seven (7) consecutive #1 independent radio country hits through 2003. In August of 2000, Rebel Hearts broke into the Billboard charts. Rebel Hearts videos debuted on Great American Country (GAC) in 2001, with “Daddy’s Dream” and “Everything to Me” airing on GAC thru 2002 and 2003.
In 2003, Rebel Hearts headed for the studio with the additional talents of Kody Anderson and recorded six (6) new songs, which included a vocal collaboration and duet with Christy O’Driscoll, resulting in the February 2004 European release of the “Collectibles” CD. A compilation featuring 6 all new hits & 6 Mountain Country hits from the “Runnin’ Free” CD.
Now in the winter of 2006, Rebel Hearts have finalized an all-new CD “Runnin’ Wild” with a “Renegade Heart”, a two (2) CD set. The “Runnin’ Wild” CD will feature Kody & Don singing Ten (10) new Rebel Mountain Country songs. “Renegade Heart” with 7 new songs and six (6) of our favorites, features the unique vocal talents of Darren Castle. Rebel Hearts are also filming two new video’s and are planning a late spring radio release of our next single and our new video to GAC & CMT. Also, for the first time Rebel Hearts CD’s will be available nationally via full retail distribution. |
