This Canton, Ohio band got their name from Plymouth's Reliant car and debuted with their self-titled in 2000. They mix catchy melodies with “snotty attitude”, and often add odd humor and random lyrics (or lyrics that purposefully don’t rhyme). And you can tell they have a sense of humor by their song titles: “17 Magazine”, “Maybe It’s Maybeline”, and “Hoopes I Did It Again” to name a few. But Relient K can be serious too.
The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek was released in 2001. And in 2003 Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right…But Three Do was released. Later, in November 2003 Two Lefts was re-released with Deck the Halls, Bruise your hand as a bonus Christmas album. In December 2003 Relient K received a Grammy Nomination for Two Lefts.
