Resonance Project was formed in late 2007 as the brain child of Australian guitar shaman Graham Greene and his wife, vocalist Donna Greene to perform at a special concert held at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam in January 2008. The lineup of the band - Graham, Donna, second guitarist Saxon Smith, bassist Jim Awram and drummer Tommy Ions - had been together for two years as Graham’s solo band, Graham Greene & The Happy Sinners, playing instrumentals and vocal tracks from Graham’s solo albums. Wanting to offer a purely vocal repertoire for the Vietnam concert, Graham and Donna decided that a band unit was more desirable than appearing under just one person’s name. They had just released Donna’s first solo CD, Resonance (Spirit Of Man), which was a collection of the four vocal tracks from Graham’s CDs plus the title track, and so the band name was chosen as Resonance Project.
Already a tight and professional unit, Resonance Project excelled at the Vietnam concert in front of a live crowd of 15,000 and a VTV1 viewing audience of six million. The immediate feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and it was obvious to all the members that the right choice had been made in forming the band - the chemistry was unmistakable, on and off stage. Donna’s amazingly strong and melodic voice was the perfect foil for the powerful and memorable music written by her husband, and the band’s interpretation and performance of the songs (all co-written by Graham and Donna) completed the equation, producing dynamic, catchy, world class Progressive Melodic Rock.
